Inspired by the vibrant festivals of Japan, Irasshai welcomes you to experience street food-inspired tastings, refreshing beverages, and live entertainment. Beneath vibrant lanterns in our outdoor courtyard, over a dozen chefs invite you to indulge in tasty bites inspired by Japanese and local flavors. Say kanpai (cheers) with your friends while enjoying unlimited samples of sake, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Live musicians create the perfect vibe.

JASH's Japan Wizards Competition

Our friends at JASH will be hosting their annual Japan Wizards on Saturday, February 22, 2025 and are asking for our assistance with volunteers.

2025 Japan Wizards Competition will be on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 8:00am to 3:00pm at the UH Manoa Campus Center.

They are looking for volunteers to serve in the following roles (basically for every aspect of the competition):

Moderators (English/Japanese capabilities)

Judges (English/Japanese capabilities)

Timers

Scorers

Registration

Activity Center

College Fair

Speaker Showcase 9:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Hawaii Carpenters Training, Kapolei - The Jaycees Speaker Showcase is an inspiring event where speakers deliver 3-4 minute speeches focused on impactful projects they have led or were involved in within the Jaycees organization. Each speaker shares their experience, highlighting the challenges they overcame, the successes they achieved, and the valuable lessons learned. This showcase not only demonstrates the leadership and initiative of our members but also provides an exhibition of powerful, effective speaking skills and serves as a source of inspiration for other members to take on meaningful projects within the Jaycees.

Kadomatsu Making Class & Fundraiser

JCI Honolulu Kadomatsu Making Class and Fundraiser (Led by JCIHNL Member Sean Takehara)

$25 for JCI Honolulu Members $30 for Non members (Everyone is welcome) 

$20 if you would like to make another kadomatsu 

(We take cash or Venmo) 

🎉(Snacks and water bottles will be provided - Donated by Sean on both days)

Come learn how to make traditional Kadomatsu (a traditional Japanese decoration made for the New Year) from our member Sean Takehara. He is a second generation Kadomatsu maker who has been making it since he was a kid. He and his family have been making kadomatsu for many years for Todaiji Temple. 

All materials will be provided. You do not have to stay for the entire time. If you would like to purchase more kadomatsu for your family, please indicate how many you would like to purchase so we can pick enough bamboo for everyone. Everyone who participates will get one complimentary kadomatsu to take home.

JCI HNL Scavenger Hunt

Join us for JCIHNL’s first ever app based community service interactive scavenger hunt!

Game will open from 12PM - 4PM (you can start whenever you like!)

100 points per player!

Rules: You can go to any location of your choice, but you MUST stay together as a team to complete the missions given.

The missions will be community oriented, community service, or interacting with the community.

4 members along with your (VP) Team leaders, an interactive community based virtual and real-life app based scavenger hunt! 

This will replace JCI OLYMPICS for this year!

2024 is nearing the end... let's end the year strong and help the community while working as a team in this fun game! 

We hope to implement this into the future years, so please join us and experience this together

Humane Society Pet Walk

Location: Kapiʻolani Regional Park (pet expo and festivities located around the Bandstand) 2840 Paki Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815

Each year, PetWalk welcomes over 500 pets and their families to walk for a cause, returning this year to Kapiʻolani Regional Park.  Exciting festivities include will include:

A variety of pet- and family-friendly vendors that will be open to the public and a Howl-o-ween Costume Contest!

Humane society requires a minimum of 8 people, and a maximum of 20.

We worked so hard for megabon and the teahouse is finally 99% clean of megabon stuff. Since we used it as a storage space and working space, it has a lot of dust, small trash, etc. Let's take care of the space Cosmo graciously let us use, it is an old building from the 1970s. Let's give it some love so we can continue to use it in the future for years to come :)
